Raymond Cochran Jr., Senior Pastor

Elder Raymond Cochran, Jr. was born September 6, 1983 in Mansfield Ohio to Elder Raymond Cochran, Sr.  and Evangelist Beverly Joan Cochran.

The oldest of four children Elder Raymond along with his siblings, sister Shaylyn and brothers Ryan and Rodney, learned the values of God, family and the importance of being leaders and not followers at an early age.  They learned these values from their mother who played a strong role in teaching them the principles of the Word of God.I t was under their father’s guidance who raised them to have reverence for the Lord, that they saw and learned the values of being a provider, protector and a leader.

At an early age Elder Cochran was fascinated with church and took a liking to the drums and gospel music, which he would play and sing.   One Sunday morning at his church, The Oasis of Love (formerly Greater St. John) under the late Bishop Walter E. Jordan, Elder Cochran accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior at the age of 9 years old.   It would be in his adolescent years that Elder Cochran would become more intrigued with the Word of God and began an intense love and study of the scriptures.

After graduating from Mansfield Senior High School in 2002, Elder Cochran would enroll in the Ohio State University and later graduate in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Resource and Financial Management.   Elder Cochran resided in Columbus a couple of years following his graduation before returning home to Mansfield in 2010.

It was when he returned home that he began to take an active role in assisting his pastor, Dr. Water E. Jordan II.   As Elder Cochran continued his studies and growth in the Word of God, in 2011 he was blessed to be ordained as an Elder along with his father in the Church of God In Christ, which is a rare occurrence for a father and son to be ordained at the same time.

Upon being ordained, Elder Cochran would continue to take an active role in the ministries of the church which lead to his promotion as the Assistant Pastor in 2017.   It was during this time that Elder Cochran began ministering extensively across the state.

Elder Raymond is happily married to Rebecca Cochran.   They began dating in early 2018 and fell in love and were married nearly 10 months later in a private ceremony amongst their families.  Rebecca is the love of Raymond’s life and Elder Cochran is excited about their future together in ministry.

Elder Raymond Cochran, Jr. is a family man who enjoys people and in his spare time he loves to watch and play sports.   He also enjoys traveling with his wife and visiting with the elderly.
